Demi Lovato is returning to a television on the screenplay in a comedy for food expenses that is running at NBC.
Lovato, who got her break in the Disney Channels Kamp Rock franchise and play in Sonny with a chance, is to record and perform productions Hungry, who received a well pilot commitment from NBC.
The single-camera comedy is written and performed by Will & Grace author and Warm in Cleveland creator Suzanne Martin. It comes from Hazy Mills and SB Projects in association with Universal Television.
Hungry follow a group of friends who are part of a food issue group to help each other as they search for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that will enhance it all.

Lovato, himself, starred in a guest role in the final season of Will & Grace, her first role since starring Glee in 2013. The singer, who is battling bipolar disorder and addiction, is the subject of a documentary series from YouTube Originals Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, which will premiere at SXSW.
Lovato and Martin will be producing with Hazy Mills ‘Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner and SB Projects’ Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson.
This is the latest collaboration between Martin and Hazy Mills, who have worked almost exclusively since their partnership Warm in Cleveland on TV Land. Their joint projects have since included Warm in Cleveland spinoff Soul Man, NBC Comedy Series Overcrowded and NBC pilots Like family in 2018 and last year Jefferies, which is rolled after this cycle.
Hazy Mills also has several other projects currently under development at NBC highlighting procedurally Des & Lou, written by David Slack, Uncivilized, a comedy from Roast Battle creates Rell Battle and Mideast Minute creator Pardis Parker, Chat program The game program with Guy Branum and The Stratford, a remake of William Shakespeare’s world.
SB Projects, whose boss drives Scooter Braun Lovato, is behind the CBS drama Scorpion and FXX’s Dave has a first look at Amazon Studios, where he is developing The unwanted, with Ken Cheng and Arvin Chen.
