On Tuesday, country music star Morgan Wallen appeared on Instagram after a two-month hiatus to let his fans know that he is not going to perform this summer, but rather take time to work on himself.
“I wanted to let you know that …[I] feel like I was really working on myself. I am proud of the work I have done, and in many ways grateful that I had the time to do it. I will always strive to be better, ”Wallen wrote. “Not only has this time revealed to me the ways I want to improve, but it also reminds me that I’m still very proud of who I am and the man I become.”
In his four-page note, which has been read more than 570,000 times, Wallen added that although his time out of the spotlight was “in many ways” ‘very valuable’ to him, he feels he needs more of it. ‘Therefore [I] will not perform tour dates this summer, ”he explained. “That means I will not play festivals or the Luke Bryan Tournament. But it’s important to me personally, if you can, still go to these shows – support country music. Country music is back and it’s a beautiful thing. ‘

The latter comment refers to a tour in which Wallen would take part, before finding himself in the middle of two controversies.
The most important was on February 2, when TMZ released a video featuring the singer-songwriter with the N-word, in conversation with friends. In the aftermath, Wallen’s latest attempt, Dangerous: the double album, continued to impress and stayed on top of the Billboard 200 for ten consecutive weeks. But his use of the word was not without consequences. After the incident, Wallen’s music was removed from SiriusXM Satellite Radio and iHeartRadio, and many other stations, along with Apple Music and Pandora. As Wallen’s performances were removed from the platforms of CMT and the Country Music Association, Wallen also suspended his Big Loud label indefinitely, with The Double Album is not eligible for competition at the 56th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
While Wallen issued a video apology on February 10, he was also the center of controversy in October last year. A week before the scheduled appearance on Saturday Night Live, TikTok videos emerged of the singer-songwriter partying at a bar in Alabama, in violation of social guidelines issued by the state of Alabama and SNL producer. In this case, Wallen simply saw his SNL debut postponed and appears on December 5 as musical guest in the late sketch program.

Currently, the artist is in Nashville, ‘getting back on track’, and although there was no question of when Wallen will return to the stage, he assured his fans that ‘you will see me sooner.’
