Loews Hotels raises money for GOP Senator Hawley

The outburst against Senator Josh Hawley for supporting an attempt to challenge the election college’s results in Congress continues as a prominent hotel chain backed by a fundraiser in Florida for the Republican of Missouri, according to a report .

Hawley was one of a number of GOP senators and members of the House who announced that they would act against the certification of election votes for President-elect Joe Biden during a joint session of Congress on January 6th. storming the Capitol.

The fundraiser for the Portofino Bay Hotel in Universal Orlando was scheduled from Feb. 12 to Feb. 15 and was arranged by Fighting for Missouri, but Loews Hotels, the owner of the Portofino, said it was canceling the event.

“We are appalled and opposed to the events at the Capitol and everyone who supported and incited the actions,” Loews Hotel said on Twitter Saturday. “In light of these events and for the safety of our guests and team members, we informed the fundraiser host in February that it will no longer be held at Loews Hotels.”

Publisher Simon & Schuster canceled a book deal with Hawley a day after the January 6 riots, saying it no longer supported the senator for ‘his role in what has become a dangerous threat to our democracy and freedom’.

“Following the testimony of the disturbing, deadly uprising that took place in Washington, DC on Wednesday, Simon & Schuster decided to cancel the publication of Senator Josh Hawley’s forthcoming book, ‘The Tyranny of Big Tech,'” Simon & Schuster said.

Thousands of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, smashed windows and smashed the doors of the building, and lawmakers scrambled to safety in unknown locations.

Five people died as a result of the chaos, including a Capitol police officer who died from his wounds defending the Capitol.

The certification of the Electoral College resumed a few hours later after law enforcement officers were able to clear the Capitol of the rioters and confirmed Biden is the winner of the November 3 presidential election.

In a statement, Hawley’s office said the senator would not be fired.

‘If these businesses do not want conservatives to talk, they need to be honest about it. But to equate a debate on the floor of the Senate with the incitement to violence is a lie, and it is dangerous. “I will not be prevented from representing my constituents and will not bow to the left corporate pressure,” Hawley said in the statement.
