On Saturday, Jason Isaacs took to Twitter to note the death and celebrate his life Harry Potter co-star, Helen McCrory.
In the film series, based on the globally popular book series by JK Rowling, Isaacs and McCrory starred as Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, the evil parents of pure-blooded Slytherin wizard and Harry Potter antagonist, Draco (Tom Felton).
Decades ago, Helen and I auditioned for a movie together. I came home and said [my wife] Emma [Hewitt] “I think I just met the greatest actress I’ve ever seen,” Isaacs recalls. “After years of looking at her enchanting audience, I don’t think anymore … I know that.”
Fortunately, the actor added, he would find out that McCrory was also “hilarious, shockingly naughty and with an empathic heart as big as a planet.”

‘As persistent as I was in the Harry Potter movies while married to the screen and [giggling] with the great Helen McCrory will always be a highlight, ”he continued. ‘Her proudest achievement, however, was to build and love the family that was her foundation. They lost so much and I send all my love to Damian and the kids. Xxx ”
Above his Twitter note, Isaacs further wrote: ‘Keep those you love and tell them every day. That’s all we have. ”
An award-winning actress remembered for her important contributions to film, television and theater, McCrory passed away in London on Friday. She was 52.
McCrory’s husband, Billions star Damian Lewis, announced her passing on Twitter, pointing out that she died peacefully at home, after a ‘heroic battle’ with cancer.
“She died while she was alive. Fearless, ”Lewis added. God we love her and know how happy we are to have her in our lives. His flame so bright. Now, Little One, go into the air, and thank you. ”
Between 2009 and 2011, McCrory played with Isaac in three Harry Potter movies, from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince through to the final film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The actress is also remembered for her turn in the BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders, BBC and HBOs His dark materials, and the James Bond film franchise, among many other projects.
