In a civil case filed by the federal court in California, comedian Chris D’Elia is accused of sexually exploiting children and violating child pornography laws.
The plaintiff, who mentions the name Jane Doe in the submission, says she was a 17-year-old high school student when she contacted D’Elia on social media in 2014. Her statement reads that 34-year-old D ‘Elijah knew the girl was a minor, and even said in a photo of her dressed for a’ ghost day ‘while she was at school.
According to the filing, the comedian invited her to one of his performances. She attended one in Connecticut where he allegedly had sexual activities with her before he was on stage. During these interactions, the lawsuit alleges that D’Elia repeatedly asked the plaintiff to tell him how old she was and she informed him that she was 17 (according to Connecticut, the age of consent is 16).

After that, ‘he constructed a manipulative, controlling and abusive dynamic’, reads the complaint in which he demanded that she provide sexually explicit images of her via the internet. When she refused, the complaint read, D’Elia “punished her psychologically.”
The documentation states that D’Elia “requested and received” more than 100 sexually explicit photos and videos of the girl, all in violation of federal child pornography and sexual exploitation laws. “
D’Elia was previously accused by two women of exposing himself in separate incidents, one in 2011 and one in 2018, with their stories set out in a report on CNN.com. D’Elia was earlier accused of asking his underage girls on social media.
After these accusations surfaced, CAA dropped the actor-comedian as a client. He was also let go by the management company 3 Arts Entertainment. Netflix, meanwhile, has scrapped an upcoming unwritten joke show featuring D’Elia.
In February, after the original allegations surfaced, D’Elia released a lengthy video statement confronting the flood of allegations of sexual misconduct against him, saying in part, ‘I know what it’s all about. is … I know it looks bad, and it does not show the full extent of what happened. In a statement issued when the original allegations surfaced, D’Elia’s representatives sent the following to Deadline:
“I know I have said and done things that could offend people in my career, but I have never deliberately pursued any underage woman at any stage,” he said. ‘All my relationships were legal and consensual and I have never met or exchanged inappropriate photos with the people who tweeted about me. That said, I’m really sorry. I was a stupid man who absolutely got me caught up in my lifestyle. It’s MY fault. I own it. D’Elia made three comedy specialties at Netlix. The comedian also had a three-episode arc on the Netflix series You in 2019, in which he played a man who threatened a 15-year-old girl.
