The newest member of Chiefs Kingdom has arrived.
Brittany Matthews, the fiancée of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, announced on Sunday the birth of the couple’s firstborn, a baby girl named Sterling.
“Sterling Skye Mahomes,” Brittany posted on Instagram, noting that the couple’s bundle of joy was born Saturday and weighs 6kg.
In a photo shared on her page, Matthews is seen wearing a “Sterling” necklace while giving a look at her newborn daughter’s hand. Mahomes, 25, also posted the same picture.
Before Sterling was born, Matthews shared photos of her labor test with Mahomes.
“My King,” she posted on Instagram at the time.
Matthews, a certified personal trainer, announced her pregnancy in September, the same month she and Mahomes became engaged.
“Mom and Dad, take a little turn after the wedding,” Matthews posted on Instagram at the time.
Mahomes, the 2020 Super Bowl MVP, signed the richest contract in sports history during the summer, a ten-year extension with the Chiefs worth $ 503 million.
The Chiefs fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 Super Bowl earlier this month.
