Refresh for the latest…: The second part of the EE British Academy Film Awards takes place tonight at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with all nominees appearing virtually. This follows Saturday’s BAFTA ceremony which presented prizes in eight craft categories. Tonight’s performance will announce winners in 17 other fields, while Ang Lee will accept the BAFTA Fellowship, the organization’s greatest honor. We will update the list below as the winners are announced.
Hosts Edith Bowman and Dermot O’Leary host the show from the Royal Albert Hall and are personally accompanied by a small group of presenters, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Hugh Grant, Richard E Grant, Tom Hiddleston, Felicity Jones, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, James McAvoy, David Oyelowo, Pedro Pascal and Jonathan Pryce. Others appear from Los Angeles, including Rose Byrne, Andra Day, Anna Kendrick and Renée Zellweger.

Come this weekend, Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland and Sarah Gavron’s Rocks led the nominations at seven each (Rocks won the Casting Award on Saturday). Nomadland tonight is with the best movie The Father, the Mauritanian Promising Young Woman and The Chicago 7 Trial. Of that, The father and Promising young woman has six nominations each. Mank (a winner for production design last night) and Minari also scored six pieces. The digging and The Mauritanian collect mentions in five fields.
A notable takeaway this year was the variety of nominations. For the first time for BAFTA, four women ended up in the director category, and after overall white acting candidates last year, 16 of the 24 actors appear from under-represented groups. There are also a number of newcomers in the group.
Prince William, who is president of BAFTA, would have appeared virtually tonight to deliver a speech in celebration of the resilience of the film industry over the past year. Since then, however, he has been forced to cancel after the death of his grandfather, Prince Philip, on Friday.
