Actor Felix Silla, known for his role as cousin Itt in ‘The Addams Family’, dies at 84

Silla has died after battling pancreatic cancer, his manager Timothy Beal told CNN.

“He was a good friend, a good customer and he will be missed,” Beal said.

Co-actor and Silla’s friend of more than 40 years, Gil Gerard, has confirmed his departure tweeted a tribute. Silla and Gerard starred in the 1979 action film “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” and regularly participated in panel discussions at events such as Dragon Con.

“Felix died a few hours ago and the only benefit I can derive from his passing is that he no longer suffered,” Gerard said. “I will miss him terribly, especially the wonderful time we had at our panels.”

He portrayed the hairy cousin Itt in the movie The Addams Family during the two-season series that began in 1965. But his career spanned several decades and included roles in 1983’s Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi “where he played an Ewok, and a role in the 1987 film” Spaceballs “, ‘ a spoof of the Star Wars movies.

The actor did stunt work on ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’, ‘ET the Extra-Terrestrial’ and ‘Poltergeist’.

Silla is expected to go to hospital on Thursday, according to a earlier tweet of Gerard, who said he spoke briefly to his friend.

Silla is survived by his wife Sue and daughter Bonnie. His son Michael passed away on March 45, March 22, 2020, according to his publicist Bonnie Vent, who described him as a kind and humble man.

Silla was 3 feet, 11 inches tall and his wife is 4 feet, 8 inches tall, Vent said.

“Felix always told everyone he was marrying a tall blonde,” Vent said. “He is loved by all who have known him.”
