Academy Awards 2021 Street Closures for Union Station, Los Angeles Downtown – Deadline

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the City of Los Angeles have finalized downtown closing plans in anticipation of the 93rd Oscars. The awards will be held on Sunday, April 25 at Union Station Los Angeles and at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.

Alameda Street between Cesar E. Chavez Avenue and 1st Street, Los Angeles Street between Alameda Street and 1st Street and intersecting streets will be closed on 25 April at 12:01 PT and will be closed until Monday April until 04:00. 26. The 101 freeway and ramp at Los Angeles Street will also be closed during this period.

Between Sunday 4 April and Oscar Sunday, additional streets and sidewalks will be closed for different periods. Details on the closures and maps of the affected areas are available here.

The Hollywood plans have not been announced, but will probably also coincide with the closure of the street.

Union Station will remain open to transport riders during this period, and riders will have access to all bus, rail, Metrolink, Amtrak and private transport providers, as well as providers. Olvera Street dealers and churches in the area will remain accessible to the public.

The Academy said it is working in partnership with community organizations and the city to conduct outreach on the ground to ensure minimal disruption to all in the area.

International Locations will be broadcast live on ABC on ABC at 20:00 ET / 17:00 PT. The Oscars are also broadcast live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
