The second RBC Heritage in the last ten months will highlight this week at Harbor Town Golf Links. The PGA Tour returns to Hilton Head, South Carolina, after the delayed RBC legacy of last year was played in June just after the tour resumed after its three-month hiatus due to the pandemic. This is the first regular PGA Tour event – non-major and non-opposing field meet – to be played twice since the PGA Tour returns, and it has a pretty good field for the second consecutive edition.

Let’s take a closer look at this week’s match, with the odds offered via William Hill Sportsbook.

Event information

Event: RBC Heritage | Date: April 15-18
Location: Harbor Town Golf Links – Hilton Head, South Carolina

Three things to know

1. State of Dustin Johnson? It has become a regular stop for DJ, whose playing is not as sharp at the moment. I’m never really worried about where DJ is, because he can seemingly find something and turn everything around at any moment, but to finish outside the top 20 within four consecutive games – and miss a track – is like someone else doing their PGA -tour lose card. His performance this week will be intriguing, especially on a course where he has achieved success, although it does not look like it will fit well with his skill.

Zalatoris momentum: Speaking of PGA Tour tickets, Will Zalatoris, the runner-up of the Masters, is still (still!) Not a full-time PGA Tour member. The only way to earn membership before starting next season (2021-22) is to win a PGA Tour tournament. So is he continuing the momentum he has grabbed after the Masters and threatening to do so in the months remaining before the end of the season? This is an interesting storyline not only for this week, but from now until the FedEx Cup playoffs. Oddly enough, if he does not win, he could theoretically be the number 10 or 15 player in the world who is also in the American Ryder Cup team, but not in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

3. Seasoned short match: Harbor Town has most famous of the smallest greens anywhere on the PGA Tour and needs far less than most places the tour goes. This is why guys like Webb Simpson (and Webb Simpson himself) thrive. It brings everyone in the same bucket, which may not be the best way to play golf. But for this one, it’s definitely interesting.

Rating of the field

This is excellent, especially considering the position just after the first major of the year. DJ and Zalatoris are accompanied by Collin Morikawa, Tyrrell Hatton, Webb Simpson, Patrick Cantlay and Sungjae Im. Altogether, half of the top 10 and half of the top 30 players in the world will finish it off at Harbor Town this week. The strength of the field is roughly equivalent to last year’s Workday Charity Open tournament. Grade: A
