Here’s what’s happening in the world of television on Tuesday, February 16th. All times are Oriental.

Top choices

Young rock (NBC, 20:00) and Kenan (NBC, 8:30 p.m.): NBC adds a bit of laughter to its Tuesday series and links the debut of two sitcoms with the believable tear drama of It’s us.

First in line is Young rock, co-created with Nahnatchka Khan by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The comedy “will follow The fluctuates from pebble to wrestler to presidential candidate. (The last one is just inside the world of the program, for now.) Johnson and Khan put together a whole team of sociable actors to portray The Rock at the ages of 10, 15 and 20: Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant and Uli Latukefu respectively. This comedy sitcom is a little more involved than most; on the institution device, Randall Park (as himself, now a journalist) sees an interview conducted with the hope of the president, which will cause all sorts of flashbacks to his greasy, muscular teens. But with Khan, fresh off Fresh from the boat, help guide the way, Young rock should offer more than just more humor from 80s fashion. ”(See the rest of our February TV preview here.)

As for Kenan, this sitcom follows Saturday Night Live veteran Kenan Thompson, who, as Sam Barsanti describes him, plays a father of a widow who hosts a morning talk, with the tension in his life forcing him to accept the sax-loving father-in-law (Don Johnson) with kind help is desperate to spend time with his granddaughters. SNLChris Redd also arrives as Thompson’s brother and presumably offers the same chaotic energy that Thompson played so well in his Nickelodeon days. It’s hard to read much of the show from this short track, but come on, Kenan Thompson is finally back on a sitcom – and it’s time. “Look at Saloni Gajjar’s thoughts on this freshman series later this week.

Wildcard

Bad habits, holy order (Hulu, season one): The latest in a series of programs that sound like their premise of a 30 Rock bit, this four-part reality series follows a group of party girls who are going to make a turn in a convent house in the countryside of Norfolk, England. This is not exactly a Sister Act riff, because these turbulent twenties do not seem to be hiding from any mobsters. But if you expect a simple clash between sincere nuns and a few libertines, you may be disappointed – both groups remain quite sweet in this negotiation for an evening out.
