Katharine McPhee is not stressed to return to her body before pregnancy.
‘I thought I would have this pressure [to bounce back] but I was just so thankful and happy that I had a healthy baby and I felt really good, emotionally and physically Smash star, who has just welcomed her first child with her husband David Foster in February, explained to People. “I’m so glad I did not have this crazy print yet to fit in any jeans in my closet.”
The American Idol alum added: “I do not even think about it! In my everyday life I would have an event that has to come or I have to work, and it’s just very nice to have a break and be happy where I am. “
Katharine, who has discussed her battle with an eating disorder in the past, said earlier Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast that body image issues were a struggle during her pregnancy.
“I’ve felt really stable in my life for the last four or five years, and my weight has been like more consistent,” the 36-year-old said on March 1. “But I feel like there was a relapse after I got pregnant, really shocking and upsetting and worrying for me because I was suddenly so obsessed with food, from this first trimester.”
While Katharine is now more comfortable in her own skin, she and her husband are dealing with a new baby with the ups and downs of life. The two had to talk about how much information they should mention about their little one Rennie David Foster. David was apparently not excited when his wife named their son on the Today Show.

“My husband was a little irritated,” the Broadway star admitted in an interview with SiriusXMs on March 18. The Jess Cagle Show. “I said, ‘What did I have to say? Nothing? Like, sorry, we do not share the name.’ Because we do not want to be so pretentious about the name, but just – it’s the only thing you can hold on to that feels private, you know, that you can keep. Hoda [Kotb] just asked me on the Today shows like, “What’s his name?” And I did not want to like, ‘Sorry, we do not share this.’
Katharine, who plays in the new Netflix sitcom Rural convenience, said earlier that she was not sure how much information fans would do want about her new life as a mother.
“I never want to assume that my life is so important that people wait to announce that I’m pregnant,” she explained last month Tammin Sursok and Roxy Manning on their podcast Women above. “Or wait to post the first photo of my baby’s foot, hand or something similar.”
Fortunately, it sounds like Katharine is now taking everything about new motherhood on the rags.
