Valheim sells 4 million copies in three weeks • Eurogamer.net

Iron Gate aims to complete the next biome “by the end of the year”.

It seems that Valheim just does not stop reaching huge milestones anymore, because after reaching a peak of 500 000 Steam users, it is now sold more than 4 million copies. And it’s just three weeks out.

The early access survival game, made by a team of five at Iron Gate Studio, reached the 4m mark earlier today – with the dev team once again thanking the player base for their support.

“I don’t think I really had time to consider that,” said Iron Gate CEO Richard Svensson. “I know players like the game a lot, but at the same time I think I can do something even better in the future. I’m looking forward to adding more content to the game, especially working on the remaining biomes.

“Our current roadmap only reaches the next biome and we hope it will be done by the end of the year, but it could very well take longer depending on how smooth the development will be. I really do not want to stress the development, it never ends well. ‘

The game reached 2m copies on February 15 and then 3m on the 19th sale. On February 22, it reaches 500,000 simultaneous players and places it there with PUBG, CS: GO, Dota 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 as one of only five games to ever reach a peak of 500,000 players on Steam.

As mentioned by Svensson, Iron Gate has a roadmap outlining future updates for Valheim, although no dates have yet been set for implementing the features (including the new Mistlands biome). In the meantime, players entertain themselves by launching themselves across the map with homemade pendulum shots – or simply resting to refurbish huts.
