Utah medical investigator says the death of the 39-year-old mother, 4 days after the vaccination of COVID, is ‘temporarily related’

The family of a 39-year-old mother in Utah who died just four days after taking her second dose of COVID vaccine believes her death is directly related to the vaccine. But medical experts warn the public not to come to a conclusion until all the facts have been gathered.

Kassidi Kurill received her second dose of Modner COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, February 1st. The next few days she became ill and her condition worsened. By Friday, Kurill was dead.

Kurill’s father, Alfred Hawley, told Fox News on Wednesday that his daughter “was apparently healthy as a horse” and “did not know any underlying conditions”.

Despite the tragic death of his daughter, Hawley, 69, who is diabetic, still got the vaccine himself because of the threat that COVID-19 poses to his demographic. He says he admits that his daughter’s tragic death was one in a million.

“It turns out she was the weird one who had the horrible reaction,” Hawley said.

Dr. Erik Christensen, Utah’s medical examiner, told Fox News that Kurill’s second dose of the vaccine and her death were only “temporarily related”.

“We have no evidence at this stage that there is a link between vaccines and deaths,” he said. “We have no indication of that.”

Christensen said side effects of the vaccine are to be expected. But how an individual responds to the vaccine will ultimately be determined by their biology.

“There are definitely side effects of a vaccine that can be directly linked to the vaccine and that go on in your body,” Christensen said. “You know, the pain in the arm … the feverish symptoms associated with your immune response to being placed in you. These kinds of things happen clearly.”

As of Thursday, March 11, 2021, more than half a million people in Utah have been partially vaccinated, while nearly 340,000 have been completely vaccinated, according to figures from coronavirus.utah.gov. Utah’s population is about 3.3 million people.

The Food and Drug Administration requires vaccination providers to report deaths after COVID vaccination to the Vaccine Adverse Reporting System (VAERS). Four deaths were reported in the VAERS database involving Utah residents. One of the four deaths matches Kurill’s age description, while the other three were in their 80s.

The Utah Department of Health told Fox News that the medical examiner’s office will “investigate any death where the COVID-19 vaccine is mentioned on the death certificate.”

“There is no evidence that COVID-19 vaccines have caused any deaths in Utah. Reports of adverse reactions and death after vaccination do not necessarily mean that the vaccine has caused the reaction or death. Reports of concern are verified and scientifically reviewed. The CDC also follows up on any death report to request and learn additional information about what occurred and to determine whether the death was due to the vaccine or unrelated. ‘

Christensen told Fox News that deaths after the vaccination are worth investigating, but until we know all the results, it’s just ‘speculation’.

An autopsy report on Kurill is pending. According to state law, it will be released to her family. Whether it will be released in public is ultimately up to them.
