Trump tweets conspiracy over Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s non-existent brother

In the midst of an incessant Twitter dispute over his election loss late Tuesday night, President Donald Trump threw out a wild conspiracy theory about Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger that was so outrageous that the far-right Gateway Pundit website recently article that made the same claim.

‘I like the Great State of Georgia, but the people who run it, the governor, @BrianKempGA, for the Secretary of State, is a total disaster and has no idea, or worse. No one can be so stupid. Let’s just track down crime, and make the state Republican … ”the president tweeted before drawing his attention to Raffensperger. “Now it seems that Brad R’s brother is working for China,” he added, “and they certainly do not want ‘Trump’. So disgusting! ”

One of the many problems with these tweets, as CNN’s fact controller Daniel Dale noted, is that Brad Raffensperger does not have a brother. Georgia Reporter Stephen Fowler was one of the first to unleash the theory that Brad is related to Ron Raffensperger, a random man with the same surname who serves as CTO for a subsidiary of the Huawei conglomerate.
