Thousands of COVID-19 vaccine appointments added in Santa Clara County – NBC Bay Area

Santa Clara County officials announced Sunday that the local supply of the COVID vaccine has increased and that thousands of appointments have therefore been added this week, including 10,000 more just for this weekend.

All people aged 16 and over who live or work in the country are eligible and are encouraged to sign up for a vaccination at sccfreevax.org, said dr. Jennifer Tong, co-principal of Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, said.

“This includes our community members who have already had and recovered COVID-19. The vaccines are our most important and effective tool to protect you and your loved ones, especially with variants of the virus that are spreading in our community.”

County officials said more than 57 percent of people 16 years and older living in Santa Clara County received a first dose and more than 31 percent were completely vaccinated.
