The video shows the brutal robbery in San Francisco near the I-80 ramp

In a brave robbery captured on camera, a person jumped out of a car in the South of Market area of San Francisco on Friday and broke the rear window of a Prius and stole a bag of police stuffed with a drone and camera equipment.

According to San Francisco police, the incident, which was widely shared in a video posted on Twitter, appears to be consistent with a report being investigated at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The suspect was driving in the back seat of a Honda car approaching the Prius while waiting to enter the Interstate 80 ramp to Oakland, according to a third car’s camera. The suspect opened the Honda’s door and began to climb out when the Prius stopped, but then closed quickly as the Prius advanced.

When the Prius stopped again, a person wearing a hoodie jumped out of Honda and smashed the rear window of the Prius and took out the suitcase and jumped back to the getaway car.

In the last seconds of the video posted on Twitter, the driver of the Prius and a passenger can be seen opening their doors and running to the trunk of the vehicle, but the vehicle of the suspect has already started speeding.

Additional information about this incident was not immediately available.

The robbery comes just a week after well-known detective Jack Palladino was critically injured after two men in a car tried to steal his expensive camera. Palladino was dragged, hit his head and later died.

Palladino’s camera has been recovered and has images that helped arrest two suspects.
