The global pandemic of Covid-19 could last seven years, reports Bloomberg – deadline

Due to the slow and decomposing vaccination, the Covid-19 pandemic could last another seven years if the spread continues at the current rate.

A somber calculation from Bloomberg shows that it can take most of a decade to use two-dose vaccines before herd immunity is achieved. Previous calculations by medical adviser of the White House, dr. Anthony Fauci, claims that 70-85 percent of the population needs the vaccine to bring about herd immunity.

Currently, the US is on track to reach the point by 2022, but serious proliferation complications and the lack of vaccines in other countries are far from the figure.

Bloomberg says Western and affluent countries achieve 75% coverage, but others are far behind. Israel will receive 75% coverage by spring. But Portugal could take four years to achieve that, China seven years, and Canada almost ten years at the current rate of expansion.

The media acknowledges that the calculations are based on current conditions and can adjust as the distribution lines improve. Canada, for example, has encountered delays in delivery, but has large backorders for supplies that could speed up its timeline.

Bloomberg also noted that production has only just begun to produce hubs, and only a third of countries have been vaccinated.

The calculations are based on two doses for full vaccination. Johnson & Johnson is running a single-dose vaccine that could shorten the times.
