The body of a former Mexican cartel boss was found wrapped in plastic on the bench

A former lieutenant in a powerful Mexican drug cartel who broke away from the gang has turned up – wrapped in plastic on a park bench.

Mexican authorities say they believe the well-wrapped body found in a Jalisco park last week is that of Carlos “El Cholo” Enrique Sanchez, a former member of the Jalisco New General Cartel before splitting in 2017. has to form its own gang, Mexico News Daily said.

Police said the body was found in Jardin Hidalgo on Thursday with two signs pinned to his body, including one that read in Spanish: “the traitor El Cholo”, the newspaper said.

The body was not officially identified, but follows after a video stored online showed the handcuffed narcotics being held in front of armed members of the Jalisco cartel, claiming he had cooperated with police.

According to Mexican News Daily, Sanchez broke away from the Jalisco cartel and formed his own drug gang, the Nuevo Plaza Cartel.

The two gangs have since waged war over control of methamphetamine trafficking in Guadalajara and elsewhere in central Mexico.
