This year’s Super Bowl will – let’s all hope – be a unique experience. And the same goes for the ads.
The title game presents an NFL season that has not been completely disrupted by the pandemic, but one whose sense of spectacle has undoubtedly shrunk. Sunday night’s broadcast on CBS yields an interesting match for fans with Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs, who won the Super Bowl last year.
Of course, many viewers will mostly vote for the commercials in the Super Bowl LV. This usually applies to a large number of the 100 million plus annual viewers of the broadcast. Despite some incredible predictions about Madison Avenue’s attitude about the game, viewers will see this year very brilliantly. There is also considerable talent from the A-list, with many stars being made more available in 2020 than usual when the Covid-19 recordings were interrupted.

Super Bowl ads: Covid-19 throws flags, but CBS and brands still see chance to score
Marketers face a great deal of uncertainty, with big viewing parties out the window and a number of viewer sensitivities coming out of a nervous year. Pillars like Budweiser and Coca-Cola are on the sidelines and, as Anthline D’Alessandro of Deadline noted, film studios are also taking a step back – a logical pause given ongoing theatrical closures.
Nevertheless, stock is virtually sold out at $ 5.5 million per 30 seconds, and many sites circulating online – a pre-game habit as advertisers are looking for extra money – show a common spark. The list of stars that appear includes Michael B. Jordan, Will Ferrell, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, John Travolta, Matthew McConaughey, Martha Stewart, Serena Williams, Cedric the Entertainer, Don Cheadle and Dolly Parton, to name just a few. to name a few. David Fincher and Peter Berg are among the notable directors who came behind the camera.
The following is a list of ads that will be broadcast during the broadcast. Come check back before playtime for updates.
Matthew McConaughey / Doritos
The pandemic gets a soft nod in this imagination of the star bouncing through life as a non-real, two-dimensional figure. Why is he 2-D? Because he has not yet tasted Doritos 3D, silly! Jimmy Kimmel, who acts as his late-night self, delivers the best line and asks the paper-thin star in the air if he’s driving to the studio, “or did you come here by fax?”
Will Ferrell, Kenan Thompson, Awkwafina / General Motors
After General Motors stunned the business world with its announcement that it will no longer make internal combustion engines by 2025, it follows up on this run-of-the-mill journey, emphasizing its commitment to electric vehicles. Ferrell, furious and bearded, mocks Norway’s lead over the US in EV sales per capita and recruits Thompson and Awkwafina for a trip to Scandinavia and straightens the score.
John and Emma Travolta, Martha Stewart, Leslie David Baker / Miracle-Gro
The location of this place is not reminiscent of tropical beaches in Corona. Instead, it’s the corona environment where many Americans have spent the past year: their backyard. In the promotional contest, John Travolta is trained by daughter Emma, Stewart boasts with her green thumb and The office‘s Baker manned the roster.
Serena Williams, Anthony Davis, Peyton Manning, Brooks Koepka, Jimmy Butler, Alex Morgan / Michelob Ultra
Athletes, we are reminded in this serious and abundant tassel, often win because they are happy, not the other way around. And in the fine tradition of the Super Bowl, they apparently feel happy with a light beer by their side.
Don Cheadle / Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer
If you did not buy the idea that athletes drink Michelob Ultra, it may be easier for celebrity imitators to enjoy kicking back with Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer. Cheadle is the only, organic star in this place, along with pacifier Serena Williams, rogue Sylvester Stallone and several ersatz.
Dolly Parton / SquareSpace
The country legend turns her day shift classic upside down in a tribute to SquareSpace and the role the digital services business can play in its turmoil:
David Fincher (director) / Anheuser-Busch
There was a lot made of Budweiser skipping the game for the first time since 1983, but Anheuser-Busch still has four minutes of total commercial time during the game. For the first time, the company is billing its entire portfolio of beer brands at this Fincher-focused venue, titled “Let’s Grab a Beer.” No masks or social distance here – the point is the universal value of bonding over beers, now and forever (or when ‘forever’ is allowed again).
Cedric the Entertainer, Post Malone / Bud Light
A gallery of previous pitches for the brand travels through a time sports portal to respond in an emergency and keep the supply chain going:
Wayne’s World / UberEats
Carvey and Myers reunite back to the original films’ product placement, complete with a cameo from Cardi B. At least one case is involved this time: UberEats launches a $ 20 million ‘eat-local’ aid, with $ 4, 5 million in micro-grants to local restaurants in major U.S. cities.
Michael B. Jordan / Amazon
Jordan’s faith as a heavily worthy starring role in films such as Confession of Faith, Black panther and Not mercy gets a wry nod in Amazon’s place “Alexa’s body.” Instead of a tabletop device, one Alexa user introduces the voice recognition system like Jordan. The actor shows how she learns her phrases in French, adds her to a bath by candlelight and stands patiently while she asks Alexa to point lawns at his chiseled torso.
Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Archie Manning, Joe Montana, Jerry Rys, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Jerome Bettis, Deion Sanders and Marshawn Lynch / Frito-Lay
Created by Frito-Lay’s creative agency and led by Peter Berg, the place bumps 10 football greats into a ridge on ” Twas the Night Before Christmas’, told by Lynch, or ‘Beast Mode’. (Luckily no one is trying to make sense of the immortal Super Bowl when Lynch was denied the chance to win the game as Seattle inexplicably tried to pass from the 1-yard line against the New England Patriots in the final zone and was intercepted .)
Lenny Kravitz / Stella Artois
The rock singer sincerely shouts out ‘heartbeat billionaires’, which we all mean by the amount of ticks left in our ticks. But who counts? (Do not answer that.)
