“This is what she believes as how she killed the two girls,” police officer Robert Reeves said.

Officers were sent to the police portal and her home, where they confirmed that both girls were dead. A medical examiner will later determine the cause of death.

Reeves described McDonald as “very calm” during her conversation with investigators. Authorities have not identified a motive for the killings.

“This is a horrific incident where two children were killed,” Reeves said. “We may never know the reason, because there will not be a definition or reason that justifies the murder of two small children.”

McDonald is being held in jail in Irving City. Authorities were called to her apartment earlier in the past, Reeves said without elaborating.
