“The journey for Terraria is far from over!”

Terraria has reportedly sold more than 35 million copies on all platforms.

Developer Re-Logic confirmed the milestone in an update on the official forums, which also reveals that the game has now beaten Portal 2 to become Steam’s highest rated game of all time, according to gamer reviews on the external website, Steam250.

The game remains the most popular on the computer, selling 17.2 million copies – that’s about half of all sales so far. 9.3 million copies were sold on mobile devices, while 8.5 million of our Terraria play on a console.

“We’re working hard on the updates across the board as we move forward in 2021,” the company said (thank you, PC Gamer). “Things are really starting to come together, and we’re delighted with what lies ahead for the rest of the year. Thanks to your extraordinary support – Terraria has reached another milestone!

“The momentum for Terraria has never been stronger than it is right now. If you add it to what’s going to come this year with Console Journey’s End, Steam Workshop Support, to get parity content for everyone … and then the possibility of cross play (we hope!), you can easily say that Journey’s End may have arrived, but the journey to Terraria is far from over! ‘

It took a while – after a very public conversation with Google, Terraria studio Re-Logic announced last month that it would halt development of the Stadia version of the game before reversing the decision a few days later – but Terraria is now available on Google’s streaming service.
