Tennessee police are investigating a man who was shot dead during a robbery for a YouTube video on Friday night.
Police in Nashville responded at 9:25 p.m. in the parking lot of an Urban Air indoor trampoline park, where David Starnes Jr. (23) admitted that he shot 20-year-old Timothy Wilks, according to a police statement.
Witnesses told detectives that Wilks and a friend were involved in a “scam” robbery as part of a YouTube video as they approached a group of people, including Starnes, with butcher knives. Starnes said he was unaware of the prank and shot Wilks to defend himself and the people he was with.
No one was charged in Wilks’ death. The investigation continues.
