Kat Von D sued over Miles Davis tattoo

In 2017, artist Kat Von D, a well-known artist, shared an image on her social media accounts: a portrait of Miles Davis that she colored in her West Hollywood store High Voltage Tattoo on a customer’s arm has. Now she is being charged over that tat. As Billboard reportedly, photographer Jeffrey Sedlik on Sunday filed a 31-page complaint with the federal court in California in which he claimed that the tattoo constituted the copyright infringement of his image. Morally, he claims to be the sole and exclusive owner of the copyright to the image, which he shot in 1989. It originally appeared in a cover story in August 1989 in JAZZIZ magazine.
