Strange New Worlds adds five to roll as production begins – deadline

Paramount + has completed the cast of its upcoming new original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as production officially begins in Toronto.

Babs Olusanmokun (Black mirror, dune), Christina Chong (Tom and Jerry, Black Mirror), Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pil), Jess Bush (Skinford, Les Norton) en Melissa Navia (Dietland, Billions) are based as regular series in the series based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the USS Enterprise. Produced by CBS Studios, Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will follow Captain Pike (Mount), scientific officer Spock (Peck) and number one (Romijn) in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the USS Enterprise while exploring new worlds in the galaxy.

Goldsman, Kurtzman and Lumet will deliver executive production with Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. Aaron Baiers, Akela Cooper and Davy Perez will serve as co-executive producers. Goldsman remains an executive producer and an important part of the creative team Star Trek: Picard also.

Olusanmokun’s notable television credits include Netflix’s Black mirror, Marvel’s The defenders, HBO’s Emmy Award-winning miniseries The night of and history Carrots mini-series remake. He will be seen on the big screen next time Dune and Wrath of man.

Chong is currently featured in the live adaptation of Hanna Barbera’s Tom and Jerry and in The CWs Bulletproof. Chong’s other television credits include Black Mirror, Doctor Who, the BBCs Ill behavior and ABC Meeting Miniseries Of kings and prophets, amongst other things. Movie credits include Christmas Eve, opposite Patrick Stewart, and Johnny Engels: Reborn.

Gooding stars Frankie Healy Jagged Little Pil, a musical inspired by Alanis Morissette’s award-winning album, until the closing of Broadway in 2020, and received a nomination for the 2020 award for Best Actress in a Musical for her work. Previous theater roles also include Urinetown and Fame.

Bush played as Helen in the indie function Skinford and repeats as Kendall in the Channel 10 series Play for like. Bush also appears in the Australian series Halifax – Retaliation and gas role in ABCs Les norton versus Rebel Wilson and David Wenham.

Navia’s recent television credits include a recurring role on AMCs Diet country and guest starred on Showtime’s Billions and Homeland. In March 2020, she makes her Off-Broadway debut in praise Bundle of sticks by INTAR Theater.
