For fans of the DC Extended Universe, Thursday last week was a special occasion. After more than three years of waiting, Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League finally arrived on HBO Max.
“Snyder walked away for personal reasons before completing the original production in 2017, and many people think that’s why the film was not the best,” Stephen Colbert sums up tonight’s episode of The Late Show. ‘The lovingly baptized Snyder Cut [is] a remake of the film that lasts four hours and two minutes, which is ideal for any moviegoer who thought, ‘Yeah, the movie sucked. But what if it was twice as long? ”
From Colbert’s perspective, the best part of any superhero movie is his scene to credit – and in this respect the original Justice League was no exception. ‘If you’ve been stuck the whole thing, you’re treated to a preview of a possible sequel,’ he explained, ‘where Lex Luthor and a character not featured in the actual movie, Deathstroke, the Legion of Doom . ”

While the Late show The host enjoyed the original credit record scene for the DC blockbuster, and he says he does not feel that the Snyder Cut expands at that moment, “like a four-hour, two-minute movie should be.”
“So, I made my own four-hour, three-minute track of Zack’s track, with only the 30-second scene,” he adds, “and I’m proud to give a taste tonight.”
While Snyder was the original director Justice League, he left the project during post-production after the sudden death of his daughter, Autumn. The takeover of the project – which became a box office bomb with its release in November 2017 – was Avengers writes Joss Whedon.
