Steph Curry becomes the fourth Warriors player to score 6,000 field goals

Steph Curry will soon hold just about every notable record in Warriors franchise history.

But in several categories, Curry is still chasing some franchise icons, such as the goals of the field.

With his first bucket Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets at Chase Center, Curry reached his 6,000th career goal for the regular season in his career.

While 6,000 is a lot, Curry lags behind Chris Mullin (6,150), Rick Barry (6,466) and Wilt Chamberlain (7,216) for most in franchise history.

Curry made it 5-out-9 from the field in the first half for Friday’s 13 points, which helped the Warriors take a 66-51 lead over the Hornets at halftime.

He finished with 29 points when the Warriors won to 130-121.

If he needs just over 1,200 field goals to pass Chamberlain, Curry should get there early in the 2021-22 NBA season, assuming he stays healthy.

Curry also holds the franchise records for most career points and assists. He will have to pass Chamberlain in points (17,783) in the coming weeks and Guy Rodgers in assists (4,855).

Mullin holds the franchise record for most steals (1,360) and Curry (1,244) could get there in the next season or two.

When all is said and done, Curry will hold all the records and be the best player to wear a Warriors uniform.
