Sixers Bell Ringer Season:
Joel Embiid – 10
Tobias Harris – 5
Skud Milton – 3
Ben Simmons – 2
Tyrese Maxey – 1
Dakota Mathias – 1
Ben Simmons put this game out with the left-back tight, and Seth Curry left the game after getting stuck on a hard screen, and reportedly did not feel well (and Doc Rivers indicated that there was still COVID after the game effects can be) We can at least get away with knowing that the entire starting lineup is still undefeated as there was not much to be happy about this Sixers show. The Sixers missed their first 12 3s and eventually linked up halfway through the third quarter on a Danny Green triangle. While Joel Embiid’s incredible first half (more below) kept Philadelphia level at halftime, everything fell apart in the third quarter, with Portland outscoring the Sixers 40-19. Things never improved much from there, and the Blazers eventually won 121-105. It was really a horrible result for the Sixers against a Portland team missing Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic. Let’s pick a Bell Ringer and then forget this.

Embiid underlined his knee in the first quarter and landed uncomfortably on a delegated block of Enes Kanter. The worst-case scenarios flashed through Sixers fans as Embiid went to the locker room. Not only did Joel return to the game a few minutes later, but he also went to press 25 points just in the second quarter, which tied Andrew Toney’s franchise record for most points in a quarter. Embiid still hits mid-range jumpers as if he’s alone in the gym with YouTube videos playing in the background. The big man scored 14-out-21 from the field and also held his march to the fault line, where he is 9-out-9. I wish Joel got more help tonight so we could see him act in the grip of a close game as he cooked.
Isaiah Joe: 6 points, 1 rebound, 1 turnover

Good night for the budding Isaiah Joe hive online as Joe received eight minutes from the second half and knocked down two of his three attempts from behind the arc. One night none of the common people could hit an outside shot, Joe’s silky jumper was a breath of fresh air.
Vincent Poirier: 0 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, 0 turnover
Tonight was Poirier’s first appearance since January 7, as he was due to COVID for a long time. Nice to see the big man healthy and back on the track.
