Silent Hill tease drawn after composer tongues waved • Eurogamer.net

“This is the one you’re hoping to hear.”

Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka sparked fans’ hopes last night with a teasing video interview given to YouTube channel AlHub.

On the fact that he was working on a new project to be announced this summer, Yamaoka said, “I think this is the one you hope to hear about.”

The interview was suddenly made unavailable to watch and AlHub issued a statement about its disappearance.

“Thank you for your support in contributing to the distribution of the interview we published with Akira Yamaoka around the world yesterday,” AlHub wrote.

“We have been asked to remove the clip, and it has been removed. We apologize and stay tuned for the following interviews [sic]. “

AlHub does not mention who asked for the interview to be removed – Silent Hill publisher Konami, or another company – although Eurogamer contacted both for comment.

Yamaoka has a career of dozens of games – from Contra to World of Tanks and The Medium to Lollipop Chainsaw – but it is his work at Silent Hill that he is best known for.

The composer has contributed to almost every game in the series, from the original Silent Hill on PS1 in 1999 to his most recent official entry (not PT) in 2012. Yamaoka was also involved in the Silent Hill movies.

For years, Silent Hill fans have been eagerly awaiting the news of a new game in the series – and despite persistent gossip and internet speculation, nothing has ever materialized. Until now, maybe.
