Shots fired on set of ABC’s ‘The Rookie’, Police On Scene – Deadline

Shots were fired at the scene of a Los Angeles recording for ABC’s cop drama The newcomer this afternoon disrupts production and sends units flowing into the area.

LAPD Media Relations Officer William Cooper told Deadline that a 14:56 call came from a possible shooting in Hartford Avenue and West 5th Street.

Rampart division units have responded to that and are still at the scene. At 3:30 p.m., police reported that all suspects were gone upon their arrival. They are still actively recruiting the area.

Williams had no information on the production affected or the number of shots, but Deadline confirmed it was ABC’s drama series The newcomer starring Nathan Fillion.

There are conflicting reports as to whether the incident took place on or near the play. Eyewitnesses say they heard three gunshots hit the building above where the crew was working.

No one from the program was injured during the shooting. The newcomer team left the area after the incident. The series will be filmed elsewhere tonight as scheduled, sources said.

The newcomer is currently shooting his third season. The next episode airs this Sunday.
