SF, Province of Santa Clara is expected to move to Orange COVID-19 reopening level – NBC Bay Area

San Francisco and Santa Clara counties will soon be the next counties in California to move into the orange reopening level, further easing restrictions for more businesses.

The orange level changes are expected to take effect on Wednesday.

“San Francisco’s health indicators continue to improve with COVID – 19 cases and hospitalizations gradually declining,” San Francisco’s COVID Command Center said in a statement.

COVID command center officials have warned residents that the decline in coronavirus cases is encouraging, but that variants are still a cause for concern.

“San Francisco continues to take health precautions as it reopens. We adhere as much as possible to state guidelines, but will add specific precautions to reduce the risk of the virus spreading. Our approach remains focused on expanding outdoor activities as much as possible in a safer environment than indoors, “officials said in a statement.

Meanwhile, a Santa Clara County spokesman told the NBC Bay Area on Sunday that their province showed orange numbers last week and if the numbers remain in the series until Tuesday, the country will move into the orange level on Wednesday.

In the orange level, offices can reopen for personal work schedules of up to 25% and retaining 25% in conference and meeting rooms.

Other new rules include museums, zoos and aquariums that offer up to 50% capacity indoors, movie theaters can reopen at 50% or 200 people and shopping malls can expand to 50%.

When the move takes place, San Francisco and Santa Clara will join San Mateo as the second and third Bay Area provinces moving in the orange plane.

All other Bay Area provinces are currently in the red level.
