Sen. Ted Cruz’s daughters quarantined after Cancun trip

Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s two daughters will have to be quarantined for seven to ten days after returning from their now infamous trip to Cancun – and according to a report, they will miss classes at their expensive private school all week.

The strict pandemic rules at the elite St. John’s School in Houston was reported by Politico – and it shows just the latest cost of the senator’s tone deaf trip to the Mexican resort, taken while millions of his constituents suffered from cold, power outages water shortages.

Cruz was hit back from all angles for the trip, including Houston Police Chief and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Another setback was the girls of 10 and 12 years, who according to him asked to give the outing, blamed the trip. By Thursday, he had determined that it was ‘apparently a mistake’.

So many parents have commented on the Facebook page for the exclusive $ 31,820 school by heat about the trip that administrators have closed the site for comment, Politico said.

The school gives a mandate that students traveling internationally must undergo a 7 to 10 day quarantine upon their return, and the school has no option for online tuition.

Just weeks before the Cruz trip, parents were warned by email to travel amid the pandemic, Politico noted.

‘At the end of the day, he takes on this heat because he used his kids as an excuse to go on vacation. And that’s a mistake, ‘parent Lara Hollingsworth told the website.

“From the parents’ point of view, I just need to ask the school to follow the CDC guidelines, and I have to say that I have no reason to believe that they will not do so.”

“I do not feel bad for him,” Victoria Konar, another parent, also told Politico. “There are people who are chosen by those who think they are the GDPs at this school, who do not want to bother to follow the rules because it violates their social life.”

Reps to Cruz say the kids will follow the policy.

“Sen. “Cruz’s daughters plan to follow St. Johns’ policy,” a senator spokesman told The Post.

St. John’s did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
