Saudi Arabia has intercepted what it described as a “hostile target” over the capital of Riyadh, state media revealed.
“I heard a loud noise and thought something had fallen from the sky,” Agence France-Presse said. “The whole house was shaking.”
Official media did not say where the hostile target came from, but the country has been repeatedly attacked by Huthi rebels in Yemen.
The insurgents backed by Iran have been embroiled in a years-long struggle to overthrow the internationally recognized government of Yemen, backed by Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi intervention, which began in 2015, has faced international criticism for exacerbating a humanitarian crisis in the impoverished country.
Under the Trump administration, the Huthis have been branded terrorists, something former Foreign Secretary Antony Blinken has said he will review in an effort to alleviate the suffering.
