Actor Regé-Jean Page hosted his debut Saturday Night Live tonight and use his monologue to prove ‘he’s just a normal guy’ and nothing like his character Bridgerton, the breeding duke of Hastings, Simon Basset. Perhaps he was successful if it were not for his smoldering intervals, which include romantic lines and a closeness of drinking wine.
Cast members Aidy Bryant and Ego Nwodim joined Page on stage, captivating him as big fans of his character and the noisy Netflix series.
When asked by Page about their favorite parts of the show, Bryant and Nwodim recounted the exact timestamps of all the sex scenes from Simon and Daphne Bridgerton.
Page assured the women that he was nothing like the Duke, before serencing the crowd with a rendition of “Unchained Melody” by The Royalty Brothers.
Chloe Fineman then falls directly into the stage in a costume and looks a lot like Daphne Bridgerton, Page’s lover. Bridgerton.
While Page kept complaining that people identified him with his Bridgerton character, he dropped the Duke’s most famous line, “I’m burning for you,” to scream from the audience.
Page ended his monologue by thanking fans and calling out the people who normally cannot see themselves who see themselves as a romantic star in television. ‘
