Samsung will soon offer 99- and 88-inch versions of its MicroLED TVs, along with the 110-inch frame that the company announced in December 2020. The Korean TV producer remains silent about pricing, but a small bird says early adopters with lots of cash are the target audience.

The company has the first TV to use micro-LEDs – named ‘The Wall’ because of its giant 146-inch screen size, at CES in 2018. Unlike the 8K concept, however, these smaller TVs are limited to 4K resolution . But they will take advantage of the ability to eliminate individual pixels to produce an absolute black, similar to how OLED technology works.

Samsung is no longer the only game in the city when it comes to quantum dot technology, but the company wants to differentiate its offering by using a new backlight technology with smaller LEDs. Called Neo QLED, it is likely that the company will use the mini-LED technology in the recently revised TCL 8 series. In addition to the self-emission technology such as OLED and micro-LED, or the still-unavailable-in-the-US LCD screen from Hisense, quantum dot technology with mini-LED background offers the best black and contrast levels there outside.
Other improvements are in the processing of games and social connections: there is a new super-wide aspect mode for panoramic play; support for Google Duo video calls (with Samsung TV camera support); and Multi-View (ie multiple input viewing) increased from just two windows / inputs to 12. Finally, Samsung’s The Frame wall-art TV is now thinner and more options are offered. However, there was no talk of improvements on the line on the line.
