The 49ers shook up the pre-draft landscape as they traded the number 3 pick and the impact the move had will be seen during a few upcoming Pro Day workouts.
Justin Fields is holding a second Pro Day workout on Wednesday and Trey Lance will do the same next Monday. With the 49ers almost certainly going to pick a quarterback, head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch plan to attend both practices.
Reportedly, they will see famous work on the field.
NFL Media Tom Pelissero reports that Fields and Lance will incorporate drill and throw that Shanahan used in 49ers drills, along with things they did during their initial training sessions this year. It’s as close as they’re going to have a private training session for the 49ers according to the rules for this off – season, and we’ll know in a few weeks if they’ll impress the 49ers enough to be number 3.
