Registration is now open for the vaccination of COVID-19 at Ford Field

DETROIT (WXYZ) – The public can now register to plan a vaccination against COVID-19 at Ford Field in Detroit. The vaccination clinic officially opens on March 24.

Officials say that after people register, they receive a voice message or a text message informing them when to book their appointment. The appointments are scheduled a few days before the opening of the clinic.

“The Ford Field Vaccination Site is proof of what we can do if we work together,” said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. ‘I am grateful for President Biden’s leadership and for the partnership of the Detroit Lions, Meijer, Wayne County, the city of Detroit and our federal partners at FEMA. We will continue to increase our equitable vaccine development, and with the addition of the Ford Field community site, we are taking an important step to return to normal as we build our economy.

The Ford Field Vaccination Clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. It will remain open for eight weeks, according to the federal government’s vaccination program.

(Residents who do not have access to the Internet or need assistance navigating through the registration process can use the MDHHS COVID-19 hotline to register. Call Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 08:00 to 13:00 The call center is expected to have long waiting times, therefore only people who can not register online or by SMS are recommended.)
