QB Kyler Murray says he will play Arizona Cardinals in a must-win game

TEMPE, Ariz. Cardinal full-back Kyler Murray will play in the final win-or-home season final against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, he said on Wednesday.

Murray suffered a leg injury late in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers last week, which called into question his status for Sunday’s game.

Earlier this week, coach Kliff Kingsbury was ‘hopeful’ that Murray would play. The sophomore quarter raised any questions during his weekly video conference call with reporters.

“Yes, I’ll play,” Murray said.

In his first remarks since the injury, Murray said he was’ feeling good ‘and that he was hit in the right spot on his right leg by Alex Barrett, the 49ers’ defensive line.

If the Cardinals beat the Rams, they would reach the playoffs for the first time since 2015, when they went to the NFC Championship game. If they lose, the Cardinals end their season 8-8.

It’s the first win-or-go home game in Murray’s short NFL career, leading the reigning rookie of the year to say “the game is different.”

“There can be no restraint,” Murray said. “We lose, I will be home and my cold. My leg, I’m fine.”
