Police investigate pregnant woman killed in shooting in west Houston

HOUSTON According to Houston police, a 22-year-old pregnant woman died after a shooting in west Houston.

According to HPD, a report of a shooting came at 12:37 near Wilcrest and Richmond Ave.

“We are not sure if this is a controversy over what happened, but there was a report that the individuals might come into contact before the shooting,” Brian Evans told the Houston homicide department.

According to officials, the suspect followed the victim and fired a shot at the car. The bullet went through the back of the vehicle and into the back of the victim.

“I do not think he is aware that he hit anyone in the vehicle,” Evans said.

Police said the victim was pregnant. She and the baby died at the scene.

‘Our understanding was (there) an HPD officer here. They spotted the vehicle behind it. So they were actually here, I believe. They were returning to the station when they heard the shots being fired. They approach the vehicle to judge her that she is responding in the vehicle, but as soon as she is transported from the vehicle to the sidewalk, there is no longer any reaction that she has been declared dead there. ‘

“She was lovely. There are no words you can explain to her because she always laughs. She loved life, she was just starting to enjoy it. She became independent, “said Romo.

According to police, there were three other people in the car, including the victim’s boyfriend, a small child and another person. According to police, the young child was the 1-year-old son of the victim.

Police said they did not call the shooting a road rage incident. They also said the victim and suspect did not know each other.

Police said they are beginning the process of pulling cameras out of the area.

Police said the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored 2-door coupe.
