‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond gives an update on husband, cousin

Ree Drummond, better known as ‘The Pioneer Woman’, made a statement about the horrific accident that injured both her husband, Ladd, and her nephew, Caleb.

“I want to thank you all for your prayers for our family,” the Food Network star told fans on Facebook. ‘Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they’ll both be fine. As a family, we thank you today, knowing that things could have been much worse. Thank you so much for your love and kindness. It means a lot. ‘

The two were driving separate fire trucks near their family farm, just outside Pawhuska, Okla, when they collided head-on at about 13:43 on Wednesday. They rushed to put out a fire, but the strong wind on a dirt road made it difficult for them to see. No one was wearing a seat belt.

Caleb, 21, immediately went to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla., According to a report from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety released by People. He has been described as a critical condition with multiple injuries, including those in his head, leg and arm. Caleb, who is close to his aunt, was reportedly pushed about 70 meters away from his vehicle.

Meanwhile, Ladd, 52, who appears regularly in his wife’s show, refused treatment at the scene. Tulsa’s Fox 23 reported that he was later taken by helicopter for treatment.
