Petco Park Vaccine, Super Station Shut Down After Saturday – NBC 7 San Diego

UC, San Diego Health, will be the last day of vaccination on March 20 at Petco Park Vaccination Station.

The drive-through site in K Street has been offering the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna since mid-January, weather permitting and supply.

San Diego County residents with chronic illnesses can now receive the COVID-19. Nra 7’s Audra Stafford has more information on the newly expanded qualification.

UC San Diego Health has asked people who received their first dose of Moderna vaccine downtown to make sure a second dose is scheduled for this week. Anyone who does not do so can check their MyUCSDChart account or call 800-926-8273.

The provincial leaders said last week that the site should finally close well before baseball returns to Petco Park. The Padres said they would allow fans in a limited capacity in the stadium if San Diego County moves into the red level, which according to the country’s leaders will happen on Tuesday.

In early March, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria announced that homeless shelter operations at the convention center, which began with the onset of the pandemic, had begun to decline. Provincial supervisor Nathan Fletcher said the conference center was a candidate for a super-site, but only if the province has an increase in vaccine supplies.

“It will be pending the arrival of a significant increase in vaccines,” Fletcher said. “So we do not know when it will be, but we are making arrangements and preparations to apply it.”

The Petco Park Super Station was the province’s first large – scale vaccination site and began with the goal of administering 5,000 shots each day. The site served more than 2,500 health workers on the first day of service.

The province operates five other vaccination superstations in partnership with various healthcare networks, as well as dozens of smaller satellite locations. A list can be found here.

On Monday, the country expanded vaccinations for vaccines to include everyone 16 and older with specific underlying health conditions. Fitness details of the country can be found here.

To date, more than 430,300 San Diego County residents have been completely vaccinated. The lotal is expected to rise with the arrival of the one-shot vaccine from Johnson & Johnson last week.
