Pelosi outlined a plan for Democratic lawmakers as they prepare to ratify the polls this week.
“If a House and Senate member submits a written objection, we will then meet in our individual chambers for up to two hours of debate. Only then will members be recognized for speaking on the floor. vote to reject the election statement for the state concerned, the objection is rejected, “Pelosi said.
More than a hundred House Republics are expected to contest the election results in various battlefield states, and a dozen Senate Republicans have vowed to do so.
Each challenge would lead to a two-hour debate in the House as well as the Senate and to a vote. It is not clear how the results of the state can be disputed, but Pelosi indicated that it could be a long night.
She said the outcome would end with the president-elect Joe Biden
