North Dakota’s active COVID-19 cases are declining, and no new deaths have been reported

Fargo’s Cass County led the state with 28 new cases. Minot’s Ward County added 19 new cases. Grand Forks County and Bismarck’s Burleigh County added eight and seven new cases, respectively.

Rural Adams County posted six new cases, while Dickinson’s Stark County and Williston’s Williams County each added five.

Barnes, Billings, Dickey, Dunn, Emmons, Foster, Golden Valley, Griggs, Hettinger, Kidder, Logan, McHenry, McKenzie, Mercer, Morton, Ramsey, Ranson, Renville, Richland, Rolette, Stutsman, Traill and Walsh each reported four or less new business.

The new cases are evident from 4,382 tests, indicating a daily positivity rate of 3.2%.

Active cases decreased by 138 from yesterday’s number, with a total of 1 984 cases currently active across the country.

Cass County’s active business rose nominally over the week, with 434 active businesses reported in the state’s largest province on Saturday. The figure is a six-fold increase from last Saturday’s number, breaking a six-week-long streak that saw active cases fall in Cass County.

Active business in Burleigh County fell 19% in the past week, from 269 to 218.

Grand Forks County last week increased its active cases by 30% and rose from 128 to 166. Ward County experienced a slight increase in active cases last week, with 174 total active cases on Saturday.

Williams County and Rolette County reported 103 and 101 active cases, respectively, on Saturday. Rolette County’s 71 active businesses per 10,000 residents reached the state.

The state did not report any new deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Saturday. Since the virus reached the state in March, North Dakota has counted a total of 1,352 deaths due to COVID-19. 1114 of the deaths cite the virus as the primary cause of death, while 238 others cite it as a secondary cause or are still death records. Of the North Dakotans who contracted the virus, 1.4% died.

The department also reported an additional 231 COVID-19 repairs on Saturday. The recovery rate of the state for those infected with COVID-19 is 96%.

Current hospitalizations have dropped by nine from Friday’s figure, with 76 residents currently hospitalized due to the virus.

Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported a total of 21,539,398 COVID-19 cases and 364,029 deaths attributed to the virus.
