No additional deaths due to COVID-19 were reported on Saturday as the trend of the case continues.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Officials have not reported any new deaths due to the new coronavirus since Saturday morning, while the seven-day trend in newly reported cases continues to decline.

At 10:30 a.m., the Iowa Department of Public Health said 560 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 were added to the state’s total, which is now 332,182 people. The seven-day moving average of new positive individuals reported per day is 497, the lowest that has been the benchmark since August 14th.

The state no longer reports the number of people considered recovering from the disease.

There are no extra people who have died from the virus, but the total of the state remains 5,336 since the pandemic began.

238 people are being admitted to hospital due to COVID-19, a net decrease of three since the Friday morning report. 56 of the people are in intensive care units, a net decrease of four. 24 of the patients require a ventilator, a net decrease of two. In the past 24 hours, 34 people have been admitted to Iowa hospitals.

An additional 2,121 individuals reported their test results in the past 24 hours, resulting in a positive percentage of 26.4%. The total number of people tested is now 1,536,509.
