MVC opposes CEE funding for educational campaign on Special Election

The Electoral Commission of the Victoria Ciudadana Movement (MVC), Olvin Valentín, announced its position that the State Election Commission (CEE) uses the operational funds of the entity to improve the educational campaign on the election of the DC captains, United States.

Law of an Electronic Referendum between the Five Electoral Commissioners in relation to the Educational Campaign on the Special Election (Ley 167-2020), known as “Ley para Crear la Delegación Congresional de Puerto Rico”. The President of the CEE, Francisco J. Rosado Colomer, decided to use the agency’s operational funds for those proposals proposed by the MVC, the Puerto Rican Independent Party (PIP) and the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) to oppose the determination. .

“This is an election to elect a delegate that Iran is to capitulate, not in favor of a limp and aborted self-determination process, to impress the Puerto Rican state without considering any of the decolonizing options that may exist over the future. Therefore, we use funds that we pay to operate the agency to educate about an election that we know, ultimately, will not resolve the Puerto Rican status issue, ”the MVC commissioner said.

To this end, the President of the CEE lists the positions of the MVC, PIP and the PPD, as positions that are legal bases and by such determination that, since the agency has no funds to implement an educational campaign on the process , the campaign takes place at the expense of the fiscal viability of any agency.
