Mortgage agreement for Kyle Rittenhouse changed after he allegedly flashed white power signs at Bar – NBC Chicago

Kyle Rittenhouse’s mortgage agreement was amended after prosecutors said he flashed white power plates while posing for photos at a bar in Wisconsin, WTMJ, reports the NBC branch in Milwaukee.

Rittenhouse, a now 18-year-old from suburban Antioch, is charged with killing two people and wounding a third in unrest following the police shooting of Jacob Blake last summer.

Rittenhouse was seen drinking at a bar in the town of Mount Pleasant, about 15 miles south of Milwaukee, after pleading not guilty to murder and other charges following the August 25 shooting.

Rittenhouse, who is white, is free of a $ 2 million bond. After his arrest on January 5, Rittenhouse, his mother and several other adults went to Pudgy’s Pub, where he was seen drinking beer, according to prosecutors. Although the age is 21, Rittenhouse can legally drink alcohol in Wisconsin because he was with his mother.

Prosecutors in Kenosha, Wisconsin, are trying to change the mortgage agreement of Kyle Rittenhouse after they said the 18-year-old flashed white power signs while posing for photos, drank several beers and ‘loudly’ with the Proud Boys’ official song on a Wisconsin -bar.

The mortgage agreement did not prevent Rittenhouse from entering a bar, drinking alcohol or communicating with well-known members of white supremacist groups.

A motion filed earlier by prosecutors said five men in the Rittenhouse tavern were serenading with the song “Proud of Your Boy”, which became the national anthem of the Proud Boys, a white supremacist group whose members identified is as involved in the attack the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

“The defendant’s continued association with members of a group who are proud of violence and the use of their symbols results in the significant possibility of future damage. Furthermore, this association can intimidate potential witnesses, ”reads the motion.

On January 22, the following details of the amended mortgage were announced:

  • Rittenhouse may not own or drink alcoholic beverages.
  • Rittenhouse will not knowingly contact any person or group known to ‘harm, threaten, harass or threaten others on the basis of their race, religion, color, national origin or gender.’
  • Rittenhouse cannot own firearms.

Rittenhouse will return to court on March 10 for his last appearance before the trial.

Mark Richards, the 18-year-old lawyer, said Rittenhouse acted in self-defense when he killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz with an assault-style rifle. Rittenhouse told police he was holding a private business during the protest that evening.

The widespread unrest in Kenosha came after Officer Rusten shot Sheskey Blake on August 23 while responding to a domestic disturbance. Hundreds were arrested and several businesses destroyed. A Wisconsin prosecutor on January 5 refused to file charges against Sheskey, concluding that he could not refute the officer’s argument that he acted in self-defense.
