(WOWT) – Below are today’s vaccination updates, as well as data reports on new cases and other COVID-19 statistics reported by health officials in Nebraska and Iowa.

70 and older in Douglas County to register for vaccination

The Douglas County Department of Health has announced that 70-year-olds and older can begin registering for the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday at 9 p.m.

To register, go to the Douglas County Department of Health website and click on the link in the large yellow box labeled “COVID-19 Vaccine Subscription.” Those in need of telephone assistance can call the DCHD COVID-19 information line at 402-444-3400.

More residents of Sarpy, County in Cass, are eligible for vaccine Tuesday

Residents of Sarpy and Cass County who were born in 1951 or earlier (70 years or older) can begin a vaccination against COVID-19 on Tuesday, February 16th.

A notice will be sent to those registered for update by the provincial health department or Nebraska government-wide survey, according to a release from the health district.

Vaccinations are available by appointment only.

Those with questions are asked to call 402-339-4334 and select option 1. This telephone line is open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30.

Sarpy / Cass’s health department has so far reported 112 COVID-19 deaths. According to the COVID-19 dashboard, the health district reports 670 active cases and a positive percentage of 24.4% as of Saturday. SCHD has confirmed 21,305 cases of COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic, with 20,523 recovered.

Douglas County reports a positive percentage of 20.7%, more cases

The Douglas County Department of Health has reported 315 new cases since Friday. Daily number updates are no longer released on weekends. The total number of cases in the country since the onset of the pandemic has now reached 62,745.

The 7-day moving average reported is 108.

A positivity rate of 20.7% was reported for the week ending Saturday. The positivity rate for the previous week was reported at 20.6%.

No new deaths were reported. The total number of deaths remains at 636.

Vaccination clinics

Douglas county

Until further notice, Douglas county clinics COVID-19 vaccinations will be eligible for residents at the following times and places:

  • DIU / WOUD – Christ Community Church, located at 404 S. 108th St., will offer clinical vaccinations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • WED / FRI – CHI Immanuel Medical Center, located at 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway, will be vaccinated from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • THU / SUN – Medicine Testing and Vaccination Clinic in Nebraska, located at 144th Street and Millard Avenue, vaccinations are given from 09:00 to 17:00 on Thursdays and 09:00 to 15:00 on Sundays.
  • SAT – the Rasmussen Center of Creighton University, located at 702 N. 17th St., will be vaccinated from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pottawattamie County

Vaccination clinics for COVID-19 will be held on Friday, February 12, 19 and 26 at the Mid-America Center.

Residents aged 65 and older are asked to sign up through the Pottawattamie County vaccination website. Anyone who needs help can also call the Connections Area Agency on Aging 712-328-2540 to register by telephone for an appointment.
