Monolith Soft made a small ‘thank you’ video to celebrate Pyra and Mythra’s arrival in Smash Ultimate

This pair is definitely polarizing

For me, it’s hard to believe that Monolith Soft even exists, but I’m glad it is.

Started in 2002 with Xenosaga, the studio felt almost like a fever dream, but they have since expanded to several other franchises, and especially made a big name with Xenoblade Chronicles.

That game, which hardly saw life outside of Japan, blossomed into a full-fledged franchise; almost like Xenosaga 2.0. I do not think they even knew how big it would be, with the presentation of a sequel, an expansion, a remaster with new story content, and now a Smash Ultimate look.

They are celebrating the last milestone this week as the studio has released a new ‘thank you’ video featuring Pyra and Mythra, from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fame. This is a short clip that the duo accepts Smash invitations, with Pyra saying, “I’m joining Super Smash Bros. today I hope you support me, and Mythra exclaims, “I’m definitely not going to lose.”

She hopes we support her? As a character in the anime style and as a sword user, she will need that hope!
