Shaun Weiss will not bother with the net in the upcoming ‘Mighty Ducks’ reload … but he still hopes to offer his role as goalkeeper Goldberg again later.
Sources close to the OG ‘Mighty Ducks’ star tell TMZ … Disney did not officially release Shaun to include him in the reloading of the TV series, although he did hear some rumblings from other actors Steven Brill had plans to bring him back.
In the end, Shaun never got the call … and our sources say he doubted he would be welcome anyway because of the criminal history.
Like we told you … Shaun has struggling with drug addiction and had to deal with a series of life-threatening problems, at one point living on the street and to be arrested for meth and burglary – but he has since cleaned up and recently celebrated 1 year of sobriety.
The shooting has already been inflicted on the 10-series TV series, and it was recently revealed that most of the stars of the original ‘Mighty Ducks’ are back for a reunion episode.
We are told that Shaun hopes that Disney will finally reach out if the show is picked up for another season. Fact is, Shaun’s character was one of the most popular in the OG movies.
According to our sources, Shaun got really emotional when he saw the trailer for the new ‘Mighty Ducks’ series. We are told that it gave him chicken skin, and he thought it looked great.
It sounds like Shaun stays ready when Disney calls … he’s gained all his weight and looked like Goldberg again, and we’re told he’s working on scripts.
