Melvin: The twin athletics match is expected to be postponed on Monday

13:37: Major League Baseball has confirmed the postponement of tomorrow’s game. A Tuesday double header is tentatively scheduled.

13:29: Athletics manager Bob Melvin told reporters this afternoon that he understands the match between Twins and Athletics will be postponed tomorrow (via Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press). The hope is that the two teams can come into action again on Tuesday, with a double header to make Monday’s game possible.

The Twins’ last two games against the English have been postponed due to the spread of a COVID-19 variant among the clubhouse in Minnesota. To date, three Minnesota players (including Andrelton Simmons and Kyle Garlick) and a staff member tested positive. The twins continue to monitor for further viral spread.

Minnesota and Oakland were originally scheduled for April 19-21 for a three-game series. Both teams have a Friday on Thursday.
